That’s the experience most people are looking for, whether they realize it or not. And it’s usually the point where they end up finding us in Waite Park, right by St. Cloud. Not because we have completely different stuff. We actually carry a lot of the things people expect in a gift shop. Minnesota-themed items, popular brands, things that are proven because people genuinely like them.
But what makes it different is what happens when you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for. Instead of settling for something “close enough,” most people realize they can actually make it what they want.
That might mean turning an idea into a custom shirt. Or making a tumbler that actually fits the person you’re buying for. Or grabbing a sticker that feels a little more personal than something mass-produced. We print a lot of that in-house, including custom stickers, so it’s not limited to what’s already on the shelf. And then there’s the random stuff people don’t expect us to have… until they need it.
Postcards are a good example. We didn’t originally plan on carrying them, but enough people came in asking that we brought in Minnesota-themed options. Now they’re something people specifically come in for. That happens more than you’d think. Our gift shop collection is heavily cur-rated by what you ask for.
Some people stop in for something quick and leave with a gift they didn’t expect to find. Others come in with no idea and end up creating something that feels way more intentional than anything they would’ve grabbed somewhere else.
You’ll still find ready-to-go gifts here. Things like Minnesota-themed items, blind date with a book, skincare from brands like My Spa Life, and locally made products like cribbage boards. But you’re not stuck with just what’s on the shelf. Just ask one of our staff, if we can make it or get it for you we absolutely will. That is the shop small difference.
If you’re local to St. Cloud, Sartell, or Sauk Rapids, this is usually the point where people say, “I wish I would’ve just come here first.” Not because we’re trying to be different for the sake of it. Just because it’s easier to actually find something that feels intentional and fun.
